Introducing: Sirreal - In The Nick Of Time

Sirreal believes in a world where connection can be the antidote to death. For him, what drives connection is music. Music is the medicine that has been around for longer than any of the prescribed vaccines, anti depressants or painkillers that we see today. Rhythm is in our soul, our heartbeat and everything around us.

What inspires Sirreal the most is the ability to help people feel less alone through the messages they can relate to within his art.

While growing up he spent his time listening to Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Run DMC, Eric B and Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and of course his moms eclectic mix of Heart, Pat Benatar, AC/DC and Metallica. On his own he discovered Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Deftones, Tool, Eminem, Chali 2na and many other influences that shaped his perception of art.

Hailing from Nanaimo BC Canada he has been working with his community by going to schools and talking to youth about suicide prevention, resilience and getting through hard times with art for 6 years. In that time he has spoken to over 10,000 youth.

Losing his brother, father and 2 best friends to suicide, Sirreal knows the effect that it can have on families, communities and those left behind. He wants his message to make a difference and let people know that they are not alone with their struggles. He has made it his mission to give people the medicine of music. He has taken his experiences and turned his broken pieces into art.

“I want to bring my message of music as medicine to the world, one invisible person at a time. With currently working on 2 new albums, The Blue and The Red albums. The Pills on the front cover represent the different medicines we need depending on our mental health status at the time. We all have that song we listen to when we are sad and need to feel uplifted. And also have songs for when we just want to let it all out and have fun.
I have made 2 pieces of art that cover the full spectrum of those emotions. My hope is to help everyone feel less alone and invisible; only then can we start to combat this epidemic of depression, loneliness and suicide. I stand ready to fight for those who don’t have the strength currently to fight for themselves.”
